My 72-year-old father, who has metastatic melanoma, is very fatigued and has trouble concentrating. His last blood count showed low hemoglobin, and I'm wondering if this could be the cause. What can I do to help him feel better?

I have posted the same question here also
http://www.caring.com/questions/low-hemoglobin
But looking for answers from people with any experience.

Thanks you

Short answer is yes.

Hemoglobin (red blood cells) carries oxygen and carbon dioxide. Can you get an Oxygen Concentrator for him? We live at 21% oxygen, the concentrator pushes it to 93%.

The nutritional ideas from the Caring website are good too.

Ask your doc's medical assistant for one, then the insurance should cover it.
