I saw this video from dr. Oz/You doc's about eating a banana every day to keep the depression away... 8-)

Don't know if it will work for 'us', with secondary depression, but I'm trying it!...but watch out for constipation... :?

Bananas are a source of tryptophan AND the carbs help it reach the brain as amino acids compete into it.

My favorite is still honey roasted cashews.

Milk is another great source of tryptophan and lactose (sugar) but dairy doesn't agree with many ppl. I'm from Wisconsin, a true cheesehead, but I'm sensitive to cheese.

I heard something similar. Apparently, bananas make you fell less nervous. I first heard about an event with a band of pipers my colleagues and I do not believe them at first. Later, when I went to a place where they sell snacks and had a table full of bananas, I thought it might be something. I tried to eat bananas when I am nervous and it actually seems to work for me.
