I am starting Week 6 of Reishi mushroom. The results have been very encouraging. I have Multiple Chemical Sensitivity and have been following Dr. T's SHINE protocol, thanks to learning from his FFTF book that MCS is a severe form of CFS. My fatigue had improved, but I was still having migraines over half of the time, despite having been to 22 MDs., NDs. OMDs, chiropractors, etc. I decided to study recovery cases online and found a woman who attributed her recovery from MCS to reishi treatment. It made sense to me, and even more so now in light of the XMRV findings, that strengthening the immune system would be more effective than all the other treatments that I had been given, targeted mainly at symptom alleviation. I have not had migraines since 2 weeks into starting the Reishi. I still become shaky and nauseated when exposed to chemicals, and I am still struggling with severe insomnia. However, this is the first time in about 30 years that I have seen this remarkable improvement in my migraines. I'm hopeful that I will see improvements in my chemical sensitivities and sleep with time. I am intrigued by the above post on Monolaurin as well.

What my fatigue doc taught me about mushrooms is that they are "food" for our bone marrow to make white blood cells. I was really low, all of mine got used up fighting many infections.
I take a blend of mitake, shitake and reishi from Swansons. Last blood test result is that my count is coming up. Low side of normal.
Now that you mention it, I am less sensitive to smells. Less sensitive to MSG too.
I read an article that some mushroom capsules are just rice flour and nutmeg. Guess where it comes from...rice is a clue.
