Testosterone Therapy Does NOT Increase Prostate Cancer Risk

This overview of the scientific literature looked at studies of men receiving therapeutic testosterone for low testosterone levels. Forty four met inclusion criteria: 11 placebo-controlled, randomized studies; 29 non-placebo-controlled studies of men with no prostate cancer history; and 4 studies of men with low testosterone levels with a history of prostate cancer. None showed that the testosterone therapy increased prostate cancer risk or increased the severity of already present cancer in treated vs untreated men.
