Inflammatory Bowel Disease and Muscle/Joint Pain
Inflammatory bowel disease has been shown to be associated with muscle and joint pain, including fibromyalgia, in one quarter of people who have Crohn's or ulcerative colitis. In my experience, both ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease both are helped by treating bowel infections and food allergies. As a fringe benefit, the joint and muscle pains often decrease along with the bowel inflammation.
