End Fatigue
Treating High Cholesterol
It is important to recognize that even though cholesterol gets a lot of attention, it is not necessarily the most important factor in preventing heart disease. Other factors, such as nutritional support with optimal doses of vitamin B12, B6, C & folate, as well as magnesium 200 mg daily and other nutrients will likely also decrease the risk of heart attack – so be sure to get an excellent multivitamin.
Although the cholesterol-lowering medications in use today can be lifesaving, they are not without risks. Some of these include muscle pain, liver inflammation, and depletion of the nutrient coenzyme Q10. This nutritional deficiency can contribute to fatigue and congestive heart failure, and I believe that anybody on Mevacor family cholesterol-lowering medications should take 200 mg of coenzyme Q10. An excellent natural cholesterol lowering product is Chol-Less.
Fortunately, cholesterol can be brought down safely and effectively using natural therapies much of the time. I would begin by eating 1-3 cloves of garlic a day. Crushed into olive oil, it makes a yummy treat that can drop your cholesterol by 10 to 12. Simply using garlic and oats can lower your cholesterol almost as much as many medications.
Other natural treatments can also be very helpful. These include niacin in the form of inositol hexaniacinate, which is often called “flush free” niacin, at a dose of 500-1000 mg 3 times a day. In addition, another supplement called policosanol can also lower cholesterol. daily.
