Magnesium — Without the Runs!
Dear Readers,
Many readers have asked for an update of this extremely popular article, which I first ran in an early 2009 newsletter.
It's popular for two reasons. First, magnesium is a critical nutrient for CFS and fibromyalgia, as it relaxes muscles and eases pain. Second, folks with CFS and FM often have bowel infections and dysfunction, making it hard to tolerate the magnesium they so critically need because of its laxative-like effect.
The solution to this dilemma: a sustained-release magnesium product that works great, but doesn't cause diarrhea . . .

Real Cause, Real Cure — a New Book By Dr. T
The 9 Root Causes of Most Health Problems and the 28-Day Plan to Cure Them
For the past 35 years, I've focused on providing real cures to millions of people, including many who had nearly given up hope. My goal has been to help people find solutions for their most stubborn health problems — especially common medical conditions that continue to baffle and boggle conventional physicians.
The problem? Physicians usually fail to uncover the real causes of patients' illnesses. Given the average doctor visit, they have 5 minutes — giving them just enough time to write a prescription and then on to the next patient. Meanwhile they are spoon fed drug company advertising masquerading as science in their conferences and journals. They truly believe that by passing out drugs like candy, they are practicing "good medicine." It is sad.
The bad news? Studies showing effective treatments that are low-cost are simply never seen by most physicians. So doctors never hear about hundreds (if not thousands) of safe, low-cost and highly effective natural treatments. Then they tell patients "there is nothing we can do for you." And they are right. There is nothing they can do for you.
The good news is that highly effective, safe and low-cost natural treatments are available for most common conditions — from arthritis to zits! Often it is a matter of some very simple changes.
Knowledge is power! Ready to have an owner's manual for your body? My new book shares these secrets with you and provides some surprising solutions to most of today's common health problems!

Research Briefs
The latest research on magnesium shows its many health benefits, including its role in strengthening the immune system, stopping a sometimes fatal pregnancy complication called eclampsia, preventing post-operative heart problems, treating constipation, and many other conditions and diseases. Magnesium is so important to health that one recent scientific paper was titled "Body Magnesium: the Spark of Life."
This week's research briefs are just a small sampling of the latest findings about magnesium. They provide compelling evidence that you should make sure to get enough of the "spark" that keeps your body's engine humming!
Magnesium Reduces Hot Flashes in Breast Cancer
Chemotherapy treatment in women with breast cancer can sometimes induce unusually rapid menopause, shocking a woman's system. The result can be hot flashes, poor sleep and blood pressure swings. To complicate matters, a woman with breast cancer can't take estrogen, because it can fuel cancer. The good news is that a woman with breast cancer and hot flashes now has another natural option to control the problem — magnesium.
Heartburn Drugs Drain You of Magnesium
Fifteen million Americans experience heartburn every day. That's why acid-blocking drugs such as Nexium, Prevacid and Prilosec have become the 3rd bestselling class of drugs on the market. Unfortunately, many people continue using these drugs far longer than the 2-month limit set by FDA guidelines. Studies show this results in a range of health problems. The latest warning to make the list? Magnesium deficiency.
More Magnesium Means Less Diabetes
Several new studies show that magnesium deficiency is a major cause of insulin resistance, metabolic syndrome, prediabetes and type 2 diabetes.

Jigsaw Magnesium with SRT
Special Formula Eliminates the Side Effects
Magnesium is involved in more than 325 known biochemical reactions in the body, the most important of which is energy production. Magnesium activates adenosine triphosphate (ATP), the energy storage molecule, to create and store energy. Without magnesium, there is no energy. Without energy, there is no life.
A magnesium deficiency can produce many unwanted symptoms — and may be an underlying cause of symptoms related to many chronic conditions. In fact, most Americans unknowingly have a magnesium deficiency.
Jigsaw Magnesium is made with a unique technology called "Sustained Release Technology" (SRT). With SRT, you enjoy the benefits of a slow release, easily absorbable mineral without the diarrhea side-effect. Instead of the magnesium being dumped into your system all at once, it is absorbed over an 8 hour period so that you get the maximum you need to start feeling better.

A Patient's Recovery with Iodine
[Last week I went into great length about the important health benefits of iodine. The following is a letter I received from someone who wanted to share her experience battling a protracted and mysterious health issue, until she read our discussion on iodine — and discovered her solution.]
Not Impossible After All!
For 26 years I was "the tough case" that no one seemed to know what to do with. My doctors would frown and shake their heads and offer little help when I told them how I had to stay on a high protein diet year-in and year-out to have any strength or be able to think. I couldn't eat any fresh produce without my blood pressure dropping too low and having trouble even absorbing my medications. Then there were the constant hot flashes several times a day and the massive amounts of even the right kind of estrogen that I had to take, and fight like a mother bear with my OB/GYN to give me, just to keep the depression from being entirely overwhelming. It had gradually gotten overwhelming anyway, despite all my efforts and high levels of medications.
The most insidious part was the way I was treated by my doctors.

This Week's Joke
Lost in a Balloon
A man in a hot-air balloon realized he was lost. He reduced altitude and spotted a woman below. He descended a bit more and shouted, "Excuse me, can you help me? I promised a friend I would meet him an hour ago, but I don't know where I am."
The woman below replied, "You're in a hot air balloon hovering approximately 30 feet above the ground. You're between 40 and 41 degrees north latitude and between 59 and 60 degrees west longitude."
"You must be in Information Technology," said the balloonist. "I am," replied the woman, "How did you know?"
"Well," answered the balloonist, "everything you told me is technically correct, but I've no idea what to make of your information, and the fact is I'm still lost. Frankly, you've not been much help at all. If anything, you've delayed my trip."
The woman below responded, "You must be in Management."
"I am," replied the balloonist, "but how did you know?"
"Well," said the woman, "you don't know where you are or where you're going. You have risen to where you are, due to a large quantity of hot air. You made a promise, which you've no idea how to keep, and you expect people beneath you to solve your problems. The fact is you are in exactly the same position you were in before we met, but now, somehow, it's my fault."
