10 Tips for a Healthy Pregnancy—Even in CFS & Fibromyalgia Dear Readers, As mothers tend to sacrifice during their lives to meet their children's needs, a mother's body will give up its own essential nutrients to provide health and growth for her developing baby. Unfortunately, the Standard American Diet (S.A.D.) is often so nutritionally deficient that even this sacrifice does not guarantee adequate nutrition for the unborn baby. Fortunately, there are a number of tips that, if followed during pregnancy, can help both baby and mother stay incredibly healthy and vital! Here is my top 10 list for ensuring a healthy pregnancy. It includes recommendations on nutrition, hormonal support, preventing birth defects and post partum depression, and other common sense tips that can lead to a happier, healthier and more vital pregnancy and baby. For example, did you know that babies born to women who took at least 700 units of Vitamin D a day were less likely to have later life osteoporosis (weak bones) and less than half as likely to develop asthma? Women with high fish oil intakes were less likely to develop postpartum depression and their babies were smarter, had better motor skills, and even better vision! These are only a tiny portion of the benefits to you and baby of proper nutritional support. The article is followed by an interview I gave on pregnancy in CFS and Fibromyalgia. In 2 weeks, our newsletter will discuss natural treatments for infertility. In addition, we will announce a new study that we are beginning (which can be done by mail) for treating infertility (both male and female). We invite couples with infertility who would like to be part of the study to e-mail us at EndFatigue@aol.com for more information. Ready to learn how to have a wonderfully healthy pregnancy?
