CFS/FMS Update & Free Apple iPhone App!

Dear Readers,

We are excited about a new free tool that is now available. For those of you who own an iPhone (or iPod iTouch), we have just put out a free new iPhone application called "Natural Cures." You can easily download it from the Apple iTunes App Store on your device or from your computer. We are now also making one for Google Android phones and may make one for Blackberry phones in the future. Natural Cures provides the following features:

1. How to treat different medical problems. Illnesses and medical conditions are listed from "A to Z" (starting with Acne and going through Yeast overgrowth), giving a background explanation of the illness followed by what natural (and prescription) therapies work best. We will be adding in more conditions regularly.

2. A special focus on CFS & fibromyalgia, including the "SHINE Protocol."

3. Blog and news updates.

4. A nutrition reference, reviewing each nutrient individually.

5. And more!

This tool is an outstanding natural medicine resource that can guide you through the medical maze, and re-empower you to reclaim your health. As part of my goal to make optimal health available to everyone, we decided to make it available free!

I invite you to download it FREE today, and to let your friends, email lists, support groups and other fellowships you have know about it as well. It will be a beautiful holiday gift that will keep on giving.

If you like it (and I think you'll love it), please also write a quick rating review on the apple order page (quick and easy). The more people who write about it and download it, the more we can get accurate information out — including about CFS & fibromyalgia. Please consider a 5 star review (5 star is best. 1 star worst) if you feel it is deserved;-)

Accurate information on CFS/FM is continuing to get out (see below about the new book, "YOU: Being Beautiful — The Owner's Manual to Inner and Outer Beauty," by Dr. Oz. It includes 2 chapters on fatigue and pain, along with a discussion on CFS & fibromyalgia that uses our "SHINE Protocol" as its foundation).

If you (or a friend) have an iPhone, simply go to the iTunes App Store (by tapping the App Store icon on the iPhone) and type "Natural Cures" into the search box to find it. Then click on the Natural Cures icon and follow the directions to install it (it's free). You can also click here to get Natural Cures from the App Store. If you don't have iTunes installed on your PC, you will be taken through a few short steps to download and install it from Apple. Also, if you own an older iPhone, you will need to update its software to Version 2.1 (simply connect your iPhone to your PC USB port and click the button that says "Check for Update").

SPECIAL THANKS

Thank you Dr. Oz!

Once again, Dr. Mehmet Oz ("America's Doctor" on Oprah) has moved the cause of CFS and fibromyalgia awareness forward. His newest book "YOU: Being Beautiful — The Owner's Manual to Inner and Outer Beauty" includes key chapters on both fatigue and pain. In the fatigue chapter, he talks about the human energy crisis, explaining the hypothalamic dysfunction and the use of our "SHINE Protocol" advice for proper treatment (including our discussion of lab testing being unreliable). Once again he reinforces the physical, real, & treatable nature of these syndromes, and focuses on how to re-empower you by giving you the information needed to get well.

Though his books do not list in the text who supplied the information given (to keep the flow of the book easier to read), I am honored that he recommends our web site (www.Vitality101.com ) twice — for both the online program and again later for how to find a CFS/fibromyalgia specialist. I was deeply touched by his kind acknowledgment where he notes "We thank the [~ 50 doctor names], and especially Jacob Teitelbaum for teaching us about beauty and reviewing our work."

Once again Dr. Oz has created a brilliant and easy to use best seller. This time, it includes and helps validate the treatments (including Sleep, Hormones [thyroid & adrenal], Infections, Nutrition — including several pages on Ribose as a "key tip" and Exercise — sound familiar?) that you have been using. So read it, and then pass it along to any skeptical friends you may have!

It's possible that we're moving to the point where Oprah will be ready to help propel the public's awareness of these illnesses forward — which would be a major contribution to re-empowering so many of her viewers. One never knows, but we are keeping our fingers crossed ;-)!

RESEARCH BRIEFS

Qigong Helps in Treatment of CFS

Tired of handfuls of pills? This new study showed that QiGong (the oriental gentle movement exercises you sometimes see people doing in parks — a cousin to Yoga), seems to improve CFS symptoms such as sleep, pain, mental attitude and general mobility after 3 months. We asked Qigong expert Ken Cohen to write a chapter on Qigong in our 2001 edition of "From Fatigued to Fantastic!" (click here to read the chapter at our website).

Birth Control Pills and Hormone Replacement Can Be Taken Every Day

Wiped out around your period? This often reflects estrogen and progesterone deficiency, and can be helped with bioidentical hormones, or even the birth control pill. But you do not need to stop them for a week a month (and feel awful) — you only need to stop 1 week each 6 months. Read more »

SPECT Scans for Brain Blood Flow Abnormal In Fibromyalgia

Fibromyalgia may not be "all in our minds" — but it is partly in our brains. Here is one more study showing alterations in brain blood flow on SPECT scanning in fibromyalgia — again showing that those who say this is not a real disease are, well, out of their minds;-). Read more »

QUOTE/JOKE OF THE WEEK

Because Thanksgiving was last week, we get more than one:

Joke 1

Check out this funny video on the latest cell phone features ;-)

Joke 2

A man in Jacksonville calls his son in San Diego the day before Thanksgiving and says, "I hate to ruin your day, but I have to tell you that your mother and I are divorcing; forty-five years of misery is enough."

"Pop, what are you talking about?" the son screams.

"We can't stand the sight of each other any longer," the father says. "We're sick of each other, and I'm sick of talking about this, so you call your sister in Denver, and tell her."

Frantic, the son calls his sister, who explodes on the phone. "Like heck they're getting divorced, she shouts."

"I'll take care of this." She calls Jacksonville immediately, and screams at her father, "You are NOT getting divorced. Don't do a single thing until I get there. I'm calling my brother back, and we'll both be there tomorrow. Until then, don't do a thing, DO YOU HEAR ME?" and hangs up.

The old man hangs up his phone and turns to his wife. "Okay," he says, they're coming for Thanksgiving and paying their own way."

........

Our thanks to Brian and Patricia for this week's joke.
